During fiscal year 2009, the city completed a utility rate study, which identified
the rate structure required to meet current and future demands for continuing operations
and maintenance of current infrastructure of the City’s utility system. Based on the rate
study conducted, on December 11, 2008, the City adopted the recommended rate structure
that allows for the following automatic annual rate adjustment for all customers:
- April 1, 2010 - 15 percent
- April 1, 2011 - 19 percent
- April 1, 2012 - 15 percent
- April 1, 2013 - 5 percent
Ordinance No. 2012-001
WHEREAS, the present City of Coconut Creek’s Code of Ordinances
currently provides for a 15 percent annual rate adjustment effective April 1, 2012; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission finds it to be in the best interest of residents
and business owners serviced by the City of Coconut Creek to rescind the automatic annual increase
of 15 percent effective April 1, 2012;
For each year thereafter, the greater of 5 percent or inflation based on the Consumer Price
Index (CPI) published by the Bureau of Labor Statistics for Miami-Fort Lauderdale.
The rate structure is a tiered structure designed to reward water conservation. The less water
you use, the less you are charged per gallon on water consumption.

PLEASE NOTE:
-
There is no additional charge for sewer consumption over 10,000 gallons
of metered water per for single family homes.

The City does not charge late fees or interest therefore it is imperative to pay
amounts due in a timely manner to avoid disruption of service.

Customers who receive water/sewer service and whose property is located outside
the corporate limits of the City of Coconut Creek shall be charged a twenty-five percent (25%) surcharge, as provided
for by Florida Statutes 180.191, over and above the charges listed above and will not be
charged the 8% utility tax.

The rate sturcture is designed to promote water conservation.

Stormwater fee per residential unit is $3.36 per month.

The following are examples of how to calculate your bill based on a 5/8" meter size within the city limits and
consumptions of 3, 6, 10, 12 and 18 (per 1,000 gallons).
