On April 23, 2006, the City of Coconut Creek Parks & Recreation dedicated the newly
renovated Rowe Center. The new center is a tribute to Jack Rowe, who served as Mayor
and Councilman for the City, and to Ethel Rowe, the City’s first recreation professional
and one of the founders of the Coconut Creek Women’s Club. Jack and Ethel, along with
the City’s pioneers, worked long and hard to build the original Community Center in 1973,
which became a hub of recreational activities.

The Rowe Center has many new features, such as: picnic shelter, shade structures over
the playgrounds, park benches and picnic tables, walking/jogging path around the park
perimeter, Bocce Ball court, parking drive, landscaping, outdoor lighting, and a
refurbished boat dock, volleyball court and gazebo.
Today, the newly remodeled Rowe Center houses the Coconut Creek Women’s Club.
It is also used for the City’s Parks & Recreation Department’s toddler programs,
such as early enrichment programs, Mommy & Me classes and Kinder Gym.
The Rowe Center is keeping with its tradition of servicing the community.
The renovation was partially funded by a grant from the Land & Water Conservation Fund,
a federally funded program administered by the State of Florida Department of Environmental Protection.
