Having Hauler Issues?
Frequently Asked Questions

What do I do if my neighborhood is missed?
Occasionally circumstances beyond the Hauler’s control create delays and may result in a community or part of a community being picked up later than usual or missed completely on their regularly scheduled collection day.  Should your community not get service on a regularly scheduled collection day, please leave your trash out as they should come back to collect it on the following day. Call Republic Services at 954-327-9550. If after hours, leave a message on their answering machine with your name, address, date, time and the nature of the problem.

My trash is usually collected at a specific time each day but today they have not come yet, what should I do?
The trash hauler has until 7:00 pm to complete their route each day and sometimes may be running behind for various reasons such as poor weather conditions, a truck breaks down, or they had to change the route due to construction or some other unanticipated cause.  On those rare occasions that they might be delayed, every effort to collect your trash that day prior to 7:00 pm will be made. However, should they be unable to complete their route that day, they will collect it the following day.

The hauler picked up the entire community but missed my house, what should I do?
Did you place your garbage at the curb prior to 7:00 am? Once the hauler has gone through your community, they will only come back if your garbage was placed out prior to their arrival and they legitimately missed it. The hauler’s trucks have video systems that record their activities. They will review this video to determine whether your garbage was out or not at the time they came through. If it was not out, you will need to bring your garbage cart back in and hold it until your next regularly scheduled pick-up day. If it was out, they will send someone back to retrieve it. Call Republic Services at 954-327-9550. If after hours, leave a message on their answering machine with your name, address, date, time and the nature of the problem.

The hauler always picks up our trash around 11:00 am. Today I put my garbage out at 10:00 am but they had already picked up my community, what should I do?
You will have to bring your cart back in and hold it until the next regularly scheduled collection day. The hauler collects garbage between the hours of 7:00 am and 7:00 pm. Though they try to be consistent, they do not guarantee specific collection times for any particular area. To that end, there are times that they may collect earlier than usual, but never before 7:00 am.  That is why it is important to have your cart at the curb by 7:00 am.

I did not have enough room in my cart for all my garbage and left an extra garbage bag next to my cart but they did not take it, what should I do?
The Hauler uses automated trucks with mechanical arms for the collection of garbage. These trucks are only designed to pick up the garbage/recycling cart that you have been issued. Any garbage that doesn’t fit in your cart should be held for your next regularly scheduled collection day, or if you have a friendly neighbor that has room in their cart you may want to ask them if it is ok to put your extra in their cart. The driver will not exit the vehicle to correct these issues.

Are there other reasons why the Hauler might not empty my cart?
Yes, the cart must be place appropriately at the curb with the front of the cart (the side with the bar) facing the street and not be placed too close to a vehicle, light pole, mailbox, tree, or other object that could potentially be damaged. The driver will not exit the vehicle to correct these issues. Additionally, the cart will not be emptied if garbage is placed on top of it or the lid does not close completely.

The garbage truck is leaking fluid and leaving stains on my street, what should I do?
