Beautiful Home Award

Beautiful Home Award

The City of Coconut Creek recognizes the hard work and pride exhibited by residents who take the time to beautify their homes and contribute to the aesthetic appeal of our community. This award is intended not only to recognize these residents, but also inspire others to improve curb appeal in our City. This type of commitment contributes to improving the overall quality of life in Coconut Creek.

BH-Winner-Q3

Neighbors Mr. Berman and Mr. Lebowitz won our Quarter 3 Beautiful Home Award for 2021! Their collaboration and use of lush material and color represents the vibrancy of Coconut Creek.

ccbha-2021-q2

The Shattuck Residence won our first Beautiful Home Award of 2021! With outstanding use of plant material and architectural features in the front yard, this residence represents the Coconut Creek community beautifully.

Award Guidelines

  • The nominated home must be located within City limits.
  • Only residential properties, either owner-occupied or rented, are eligible.
  • Anyone may nominate a home, whether they live in the City or outside the City.
  • City Code Enforcement Officers will also offer nominations for the award.
  • Applications with open code violations will not be considered.
  • Each home is limited to winning the award once in any two-consecutive calendar years.

Winners are honored as follows:

  • A Beautiful Home Award yard sign will be provided by the City to the award recipient for one month following the award, to be placed in the front of the house.
  • A picture of the home with the award recipient’s permission will be placed on the City’s social media pages, including the City’s website.
  • The award recipient will be recognized at a City Commission meeting.

Evaluation Criteria

The City of Coconut Creek Environmental Advisory Board will judge the nominated residences using the criteria in the Beautiful Home Award scoring matrix. All decisions of the judges are final.

A new home will be selected quarterly for the award. Award winners will be selected in January, May, September, and November. Applications must be received by the first Monday of the selection month.

All nomination applications will be discarded upon selecting a winner. However, you may re-submit your nomination for another award cycle.

To Nominate a Home

You may nominate your own home or another resident’s home by filling out and submitting a Beautiful Home Award Nomination Form with 3 - 5 pictures of the nominated site. You may nominate someone from the form below or it may be picked up at City Hall located at 4800 West Copans Road during normal business hours (Monday through Thursday from 7:00 AM to 6:0 PM). Nominations must be received by the first Monday of the selection month.

Completed nomination forms, with 3 - 5 site pictures may be submitted via WE Transfer to the Environmental Advisory Board, at envab@coconutcreek.net. Nominations may also be mailed or dropped off at City Hall.

Awards will be determined from available nominations for the selection month. If there are no applicants to choose from, or if applications fall below the minimum score required, no award will be offered until the next award cycle.
